LSK Global PS, Designatedas an Education Center for Clinical Research

Strengthening its Expertise in Clinical Research byEstablishment of LSK Education Center

-Newly established LSK Education Center dedicated to Clinical Research Educationand kicked off its operation

LSK Global PharmaServices Co., Ltd. (LSK Global PS), a leading CRO in Korea, announced that itwas designated as an Education Center for Clinical Research, etc. by theMinistry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) on 18 August 2016. LSK Global PS willestablish a separate center for specialized education on clinical research andwill provide education services for anyone who wants to receive professionaltraining on clinical research.

The Pharmaceutical Affairs Law of Korea, as revisedin 2015 (enforced on 29 September 2015), mandates that clinical research personnel,including clinical study monitors, etc. complete a training course of at leasta specified time period at an education center designated by the MFDS everyyear. The designation of LSK Global PS as a certified education center forclinical research gives LSK Global PS a legal ground to leverage itsestablished system for training monitors on professional knowledge/skills andethical standards that clinical research personnl should be equipped with.

 

LSK Education Center hasprofessional instructors skilled in clinical research education and staffmembers dedicated to its operations and also arranged education areas within LSKGlobal PS’s headquarters located in Daeyungak Tower, Myung-dong, Seoul. In2016, it will kick off 2 training courses for new monitors and 2 in-depthcourses for experienced monitors. The training course will include: 1)Understanding clinical trials and stages of new drug development, 2) Understandingregulations related to clinical trials, 3) Planning clinical trials andmanaging their implementation, 4) Pharmacovigilance, 5) Data processing andstatistics in clinical trials and 6) Practical aspects of clinical trialmonitoring.

LSKGlobal PS is a CRO established in 2000 and is providing integrated services fordrug development. Therapeutic areas that we cover are oncology, cardiovascular,endocrinology and other various areas. To date (as of June 2016), we haveconducted about 820 clinical trials. We believe that, with our clinicalresearch expertise and established training system, we will be able to offerhigh-quality professional training and raise clinical research experts throughLSK Education Center.

 

Young-JackLee, Ph.D., president of LSK Global PS, said, “Since 2001, we have constantlytried to establish effective training system and various training courses forimproving professional knowledge/skills of in-house clinical researchpersonnel.” This designation as an Education Center for Clinical Research meansthat we are taking our internal competency in clinical research trainingoutside the company to contribute to strengthening the expertise of clinicalresearch personnel in Korea. Dr. Lee added, “We believe our certified EducationCenter for Clinical research will help clinical research personel, both insideand outside our organization, to strengthen their expertise. We will focus on strengtheningour professional leadership.”
